What is Lash Extensions?
Eyelash extensions are semipermanent synthetic lashes that are hand-glued on top of your natural lashes to add extra length and volume. They’re perfect for holidays, a big event or just perfect lashes every day.
Because lash extensions are glued on individually, unlike strip lashes, they’re super customizable and actually look real.
It takes around two hours for a full set to be applied, but it’s ultra relaxing and a lot of people fall asleep whilst they’re being applied. So plan your time wisely.
Are there different types of lash extensions?
There are many different variations of lengths, thicknesses and curvatures which you can choose from after an initial consultation with your lash artist to get the look you want. You can also get half sets or just corner lashes or put accent lashes – depending on how full you want your option.
How long do lash extensions last for?
Lash extensions typically last the same lifetime as your natural lash cycle, which is between 4-6 weeks. However, to avoid them looking patchy as they grow out, most lash salons usually recommend top ups after 2 or 3 weeks to keep lashes looking completely full and uniform.
How do you remove Lash Extensions?
To avoid damage to your natural lashes lash extensions are best removed professionally by your lash technician. A special gel or cream remover is applied and the process usually takes between 10-15 minutes.
How do you care for lashes?
- With eyelash extensions this involves keeping lashes away from water for 24 hours and heat treatments, such as saunas or steam, after having them applied.
- Avoid any oil-based products around the eye area especially oil-based eye make-up remover as these dissolved the glue much faster.
- Your lashes might get a little twisted in the morning, so it’s a good idea to use a little brush to give them a brush into place.
